Institutional Archives: conceptualization and implementation

The Head of Institutional Records and Archives at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, Nancy Enneking will introduce us to the challenges of archival processing in the programs conducted by the Getty, both in the United States and around the world. She will analyze the records of projects related to research, conservation and restoration, and different strategies to promote archives in public and private institutions.

Nancy Enneking, MA, MLIS, is currently the Head of Institutional Records and Archives at the Getty Research Institute in the J. Paul Getty Trust.  She has responsibility for all records management and institutional archives functions for each of the Getty's four operating programs, the Conservation Institute, Foundation, Museum, Research Institute, and for the overarching Trust Administration.  She has been professionally active as member of the Archives Space User Advisory Council, as an ArchivesSpace trainer, and on the California Historical Records Advisory Board.  Prior to her arrival at Getty in 2004, she spent almost 6 years with the Texas State Archives and worked in several university archives.
